By Sodiq Lawal

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ile Ife branch has warned commuters to desist from boarding vehicles outside designated motor parks.

The Chairman, NURTW Ile Ife, Mr Isiaka Olatunbosun,  in an interview with Ife City News  on transport situation in this Easter celebration period said there are numerous risks associated with boarding vehicles outside the officially-designated motor parks.

He explained that armed robbers mostly use the advantage of festivities and celebrations period to perpetrate their evil acts by using cheaper fares as inducement at the road side.

According to him, commuters are fond of boarding vehicles along the expressway because of cheaper fares, which unknown to them, may be dangerous and unsafe.

He implored passengers to be careful especially during this Easter holidays, as ritualists  and armed robbers  are also targeting festival  periods  to operate and put so many lives in danger.
