Five men, Agboola Olubunmi, Jamiu Suraju, Wahab Gafaar, Akiyole Wasiu and Afeez Akinyemi were on Friday arraigned before an Osun State Magistrate Court II sitting in ile ife for allegedly kidnapping Mrs Babaride Folake, beating her severely and stole her Nokia Phone valued N35,000.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Sunday Osanyetuyi told the court that suspects conspired together to kidnap, injure and stole the property of the complainant on April 4, 2017 at Modomo in Ile -Ife.
He said the offence is contrary to section 517, Section 390(9) and Section 414 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II laws of Osun State 2003.
When the five count charges were read to the accused people, they pleaded not guilty.
The Counsel to the accused, Mr. Ola Ibrahim applied for their bail on the most lenient terms.
In his ruling, Magistrate Olamilekan Ijiyode granted the bailed of each accused person with the sum of N200,000 with one surety to swear to affidavit of means produce 2 passport photograph, and that the surety must be a civil servant within the jurisdiction of the court.
He however adjourned the case to May 12, 2017 for mentioning.
