An Osun State magistrate court II sitting presided over = by Magistrate Olamilekan Ijiyode has given an accused person, Seyidu Promise N10,000 to perfect his bail granted by the court.
The accused was said to have been granted bail of N30,000 by the court for stealing the property of one Mr Isaac Itoye over a month but only paid N10,000 out of the money.
Counsel to the accused, Barrister Leke Dada told the court that the accused do not turn up for the payment.
When the magistrate confronted the accused over his inability to settle the bail condition, the accused said he was unable to turn up with the payment because he was among the people arrested during the recent Ile- Ife Hausa/ Yoruba crisis.
Also, he said he is having financial problem and promised to pay by ending of April.
The magistrate however assisted the accused with N10,000 and urged him to pay the remaining N10,000 by ending of April as promised.
He said” we should be assisting people who are in need. I don’t know neither the accused nor the complainant but I did it to assist him” Ijiyode said.
He urged all Nigerians to always be kind and merciful to people who are in need of help.
He however adjourned the case to 5th May, 2017 for mentioning.
