The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcyclist Riders ( ACMR), Ile Ife branch, has commended the effort of his Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ile Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II over his efforts in resolving the recent ethnic crisis in Ile- Ife .
Speaking with the ACMR Chairman, Ile- Ife branch, Mr Oladimeji said Oba Ogunwusi’s efforts at ensuring peace among all peoples of the South West and beyond is commendable.
Akanbi noted that the prompt intervention of the traditional ruler doused the tension during the clash between natives of the town and the Hausa settlers and commended the monarch for speaking against perceived politicisation of the crisis.
“Within the short period of his ascension to the throne, Ooni has earned his palace a great respect as an ambassador of peace, It is to our relief that his words and actions have greatly helped in providing the much needed balm that doused the tension and prevented the recent crisis from escalation.”
He appealed to all residents including Hausa community in Ile-Ife to shun any act capable of causing violence, saying they should always tread the path of peace in expressing grievances.
