Following the fear been expressed by students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife Campus that some Faculties and Departments are not ready to comply with university directive to shift examinations for Pre – Nigeria University Game ( NUGA), authorities in the institution has assured the students that the directive will be strictly complied with.
There were tension and anxiety over the weekend as some faculties were reported to have rejected the university Senate directive to shift the examinations.
But the university Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abiodun Olanrewaju and the Dean, Division of Students’ Affairs, Professor (Mrs.) Grace Akinola reaffirmed on Saturday that examination will not hold from 4th – 7th of April for the university to participate in Pre-NUGA.
Dean, students’ affairs, Akinola said the Director of Academic Affairs will send the decision of the senate to all departments on Monday so that they will know they cannot hold any exam during the Pre NUGA period adding that any examination held during the period will be null and void.
Also, the varsity PRO, Olanrewaju in a release said the postponement became necessary so that students who are representing the university would have time to prepare for both Pre-NUGA and respective individual examinations
He further advised lecturers and students concerned to abide by the new arrangement as approved by the university senate.
It would be recalled that Ife City News has exclusively reported that the university senate on Wednesday, 29th of March rescheduled the university examination timetable from 4th-7th to 10th-13th of April due to allow the university participation in pre-NUGA.
