Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife has begun the registration for Joint University Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) 2017/2018 session.
JUPEB is a national examination body saddled with the responsibility of conducting examinations for students, who have undergone approved subject combinations and seeking Direct Entry admissions in Nigerian and partnering foreign tertiary institutions.
The candidates must have been exposed to an intensive scheme of academic work relevant to their proposed university course. Each subject is divided four courses to be taken, two per semester, by candidates.
The students upon completion of the programme will be issued certificates based on their level of performance which bear letter grades of A, B, C, D, E or F in each of the three subjects and General studies paper.
For admission into OAU, each candidate must pass prescribed JUPEB examinations for issuing the direct entry certificates and also satisfy all other conditions as prescribed by the university.
According to Ife City News findings, the programme is an intensive coaching curriculum aims at ensuring adequate exposure to fundamentals of concepts and preparation of eligible students for university direct entry admission.
The courses of study are in line with those of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects including English Language which is compulsory for all students after they must have possess minimum of 5 Credits at maximum of two sittings in at least 5 subjects (inclusive of English Language) relevant to the candidates selected for admission through entrance examination.
Also, the duration of the programme of courses for the board’s examination is a minimum of one academic session of two semesters at OAU Distance Learning Study Centre at Moro, Ife North Local Government Area, Osun State.
Meanwhile, the entrance examination is said to hold on Saturday, 20th of May, 2017.
