OAU Students’ Union Renders Stewardship

The Students’ Union of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife on Friday rendered  the account of stewardship of it barely a month  administration to the students  as the university rain semester examination is moving to an end.

The President of the union,  Oyekan Ibukun  and other executives in a statement  explained that welfare condition of the students has gained the attention of the union  the administration  in the last one month with priority on constant water supply and stable electricity.

The union was inaugurated March 6,  2017 .

According to the union executives,  epileptic power supply and water supply in campus  were being hindered by the damaged underground pipelines are transporting water to various halls of residence.

They explained that the administration has been more proactive in combating social vices and every form of harassment against member of the union saying injury to one is an injury to all which among the most cherish tradition of OAU students’  union  which has strengthened the student controlled security committee to be strong, formidable and dependable.

On transport challenges in the university, OAU SU said  it has  held several  meeting with the members of Road Transport Employees Association of Nigeria, (RTEAN) to discuss the exploitation by the bus drivers which has not yield any way forward and promised to introduce students’ union controlled transport scheme with the support of cooperate bodies on Campus.
