The founder of Oduduwa University Ipetumodu (OUI) and The Polytechnic Ife, Dr Ramon Adedoyin, the Maye of the Source, on Friday donated 50 bundles of Iron sheets to the Hausa Community who are major victims of March 8 clash in Ile- Ife.
Adedoyin, accompanied with his wife, Yeye Maye of the Source, Chief Iyabo Adedoyin, lauded the Hausa community for allowing peace to reign in Ife after the “unfortunate incident”
He commended the Hausa community for accepting incident as the will of Allah, saying there was a possibility of escalating the crisis to other parts of the country if it were to be in the past
He advised them to always alert the authorities whenever there was trace of dispute and pass their grievances to appropriate quarters for quick intervention.
Maye explained that Hausa’s are not strangers in Ife, but described them as indigenes, saying their generations have resided in Ife for more than 200 years.
She called on the affected community to sustain the existing peace for development.
Responding, the Sariki of Hausa in Ile- Ife Alhaji Mohammed Madagali, appreciated the gesture, noting that Adedoyin has been supportive even before the crisis.
He pledged their support to the maintenance of peace and unity in Ile-Ife, assuring that there would not be reprisal attack in any part of the country
