OAU Law Professor Challenges Students on Responsible Leadership

Dean, Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Professor  S. B. Odunsi has charged the students of Obafemi Awolowo University to be  a pace setter as 21st century leaders.

Professor Odunsi disclosed this at maiden symposium organised by the Adekunle Fajuyi Hall Executive Council on the topic: “Setting the Tides for 21st Century Leaders; The Way Forward”.

The dean encouraged the students to concentrate on their primary assignment which is their academics and provide responsible leadership in whatever position they found themselves.

He commended Fajuyi Hall executives for organising first of its kind symposium for the benefit of students residing in Fajuyi hall.

He said “this event is a beautiful gathering organised by young minds for their colleagues, this is indeed the type of 21st century leaders we are here to talk about. I appreciate the hall executives”, he said.

Other dignitaries at the symposium includes Hon Eluwole, representing Ife Central at the Osun State House of Assembly, Professor Femi Mimiko of department of Political Science and Chief Dele Fatoyinbo;  a business mogul, OAU Students’ Union Leaders among others.

Students who attended the programme however commended the organisers.

Tunji Makinde, a student who residing in Block 3 Fajuyi Hall said; “I am indeed happy to be part of this programme,  I have always been running from responsibility but hence forth, I am ready for a leadership position”.

Another student, Taiwo Alarape told our reporter that the programme has taught him to look for way of survival without putting all burdens on his parents.
