OAU Technology Students Bids Farewell to Former Deputy VC

The students of faculty of Technology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile -Ife on Friday celebrated  the former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), of the university, Professor Kehinde  Lawrence of the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University Conference Center.

The faculty honored the former DVC with a lecture titled: “Sensors and Internet of Things: A Revolution in the Making”.

Prof Lawrence honorary lecture  was attended by the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Anthony Elujoba, who was represented by Professor  Dennis Nduduba, the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede, the Head of Department of Microelectronics of Delft University of Technology, Netherlands among others.

The honoree, Professor Kehinde was said to the remaining longest serving alumnus of OAU from 1971 till date.

Vice Chancellor designate, Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede hailed Professor Lawrence service for the development of the university.

According to him, Professor Lawrence initiated the traffic light control system on campus while most of the reforms he introduced as the deputy vice chancellor are still enduring in the institution.

Chairman of the occasion, Professor Adebayo Akande prayed for the newly appointed Vice Chancellor for wisdom, knowledge and understanding to over see the University community for better greatness.

Ife City News gathered that Professor Kehinde Lawrence has spent most of his years as a Professor of Instrumentation Engineering in OAU.
