The Special Assistant to Ooni on Empowerment and Wealth Creations, Mr Olamide Awosunle who made the observation in a chat with Ife City News said Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has great potential for job creation.
He expressed regret that youths are blind to see the future benefits of ICT, and failed to harness its potential in the area of national development that would have led to rapid job creation.
He called on the government to use technology as a platform for job creation, adding that the only sector that has the capacity to achieve this is the ICT .

He cited India as an example where an emphasis on ICT has turned the economy into the outsourcing capital of the world.
He advised the Ife Youth Economic Submit team to begin the process of engaging ICT professionals in Nigeria, if the desire to make youth employment the arrow head of the policy is to be achieved.
