Idi Aje Shrine Needs More Cultural Awareness

Idi Aje Shrine, in Ile –Ife  is not lacking modern beautification as one of the major shrine that has gained the attention of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi  but still experiences low patronage of the tourists expect festival period.

Mrs Okunade Ajetomiwa  who manages the shrine  told Ife Ife City News during and exclusive interview  at his residence in Moore in Ile –Ife.

She said there need for more cultural awareness about the power of the goddess in wealth creation and economic prosperity.

According to Akintomiwa , since the renovation and unveiling of the shrine by the Ooni of Ife, patronage at the shrine  has not been impressive.

She described Idi Aje as the goddess of the wealth as the site of the first market created on earth and the origin of all markets in the universe.

She added that Ooni Adeyeye was the first Ooni to celebrate the festival since its existence .

She urged leaders in the country especially Yoruba extraction to see Idi Aje as a goddess that can ends recession in Nigeria through prayer and sacrifice.
