Residents of Ife Central West Local Government and its environs have been urged to pay taxes and rates when due to enable government to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
The Executive Secretary of Ife Central West Local Government, Bar. Olubisi Oladosu made the call during a meeting with Market representatives and community leaders at Opa area in Ile Ife.
Oladosu added that such payments would enable the government to provide adequate amenities for the people.
According to him, it is the responsibility of every administration to improve its Internally Generated Revenues (IGR) drive so as to improve the welfare of the citizens.
“We are making concerted efforts to improve our IGR because without that, the state will not be able to provide basic infrastructure for the people” , He Said.
He urged people to always be ready to contribute their quota to development of the state.
He implored every household to have their original house plan documents as soon as possible to avoid discomfiture.
Earlier, a community leader, Mr. Afeez Adereti, requested for the provision of better welfare by the creation of more local community health centres in Surulere and Community hall.
He advocated more poling boots in the area as result of the increase in the population in the area.
The community leader also call for the replacement of all culverts in front of community primary school, Iredapo, provision of transformer for the community, potable water among other facilities.
