Ife Youth Economic Summit(IYES) is set to engage 200 youths in Ile- Ife Information and Communication Technology(ICT) training on June 22.
The summit will also discuss business opportunities that will create viable economic foundation and create massive job in Ife land.
According to the press statement released by the Cordinator of the IYES, Mr Temitope Eniola said the program will open the minds of Ife youths to new ideas in generating wealth, stressing that the Summit will come up with recommendations to government and relevant stakeholders.
He stated further that the ICT training comprises of Desktop Application, E-commerce, Introduction to Blogging, Android Application and others, adding that the training will commence on June 22 and will last for six weeks.
He mentioned that the group has met and consulted with other prominent Nigerians towards the success of the Summit.
He disclosed that the group has visited the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan to seek his royal blessing and endorsement of the Summit scheduled to hold in Ile Ife.
He noted that the 13-man delegation consists of young professionals from business, pubic, media and the diaspora are to grace the occasion.
The press statement added that the Ooni, Oba Ogunwusi while responding, thanked members of the Working Committee for the visit and graciously accepted the invitation as the Summit Patron and Royal Father of the Occasion.
He said the summit could not come at a better time than now when many of the youths are disillusioned, abandoned and lack good role models.
The Ooni said he shares the same vision along with the organisers and promised to galvanize other leaders, government and stakeholders in the State to also support and participate in the Summit.
The theme for the summit is ICT : A Formidable Tool For Nigeria’s Economy Rejuvenation and Massive Job Creation.
