The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, is set to host the biggest poetry gathering of students in Nigeria institutions between 27th of July to 29th of July 2017 at Oduduwa Hall of the University.
According to Mr. Victor Adewale; the founder and director of Go Poethick, in an interview with Ife City News, Go Poethick is a festival of poetry that began in 2015, at Obafemi Awolowo University.
He said the festival will bring the art of poetry to young people in Nigerian universities for the country to create fertile ground for the growth of art.
2017 festival according to Adewale will feature series of activities including: panel discussions, secondary schools visitation, bonfire poetry party and a poetry cum theatre production by one of Nigeria’s finest performance poets.
“This year’s edition promises to deliver a three-days non-stop fun, befitting of well – planned festival with a blend of fashion and culture.”
Other highlight of this year festival is the “Made in Nigeria Show”, a poetry and theatre production by Dike Chukwumerije, to be hosted by the Simply Poetry production crew.
