The Central Executive Council, Students’ Union Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, has demanded the public declaration of the health status of President Muhamadu Buhari.
The President of the union, Oyekan Ibukun Edward in a statement to mark this year democracy day said Nigerians deserve to know the health condition of their president while lamenting the Nigeria deplorable economic condition.
OAU SU in a statement obatained by Ife City News said “We shall not allow the jamboree of democracy celebration distract us from condemning the wrongs in the Nigeria’s economic and socio-political structures. We condemned the rate of corruption of men and women at the corridor of power despite the intensification of the anti-graft campaign of the President.”
“It is glaring that the Federal Government of Nigeria is not interested in the future of Nigerian youths which has reflected in their negligence to proper funding of education and creation of jobs for the teeming unemployed Nigerian youths.
“We as a union, demands the Federal Government of Nigeria to properly fund Nigerian Education system in compliance with the 26% budgetary allocation as mandated by UNESCO”, the union said.
