The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja ll, has said that the recession in Nigeria is a blessing in disguise.

The monach made this known at the Ife Business School 3rd Annual series lecture titled: “Recession; Harnessing Local Resources for Economic Recovery”.

Ooni commended Ife Business School for working towards expanding the world of commerce in Nigeria as the institution boast of producing about one thousand youths who have been trained in Agriculture, Block Making, Driving, Plumbing and other vocational skills among others which is turning the ancient city to a better society.

Oba Adeyeye further charged Nigerians to promote made in Nigeria products saying God has given the country the best weather to turn things around for positive change and not to be distracted by crude oil.

“We have every thing to turn things around for ourselves. Civilization started from us, we are endowed with natural resources but crude oil has distracted everyone.” he said.

He also reiterated that recession is a blessing in disguise. He therefore encouraged Nigerians to patronise made in Nigeria goods to promote the country economy as that remains the only way citizens can add up to the growth of Nigeria.

He added “recession is a blessing in disguise for us to patronise our own, I am proud to tell the audience that Aba makes good shoes and they have been my best customers for years. We will improve economically if we patronise our own. This will give room for the expansion of Aba and Onisha among other places where youths struggle to make living for themselves,” the monarch advised.
