Ife Court Five Remands Five Men Over N3M Theft

An Osun State Magistrate Court II sitting in Ile Ife has remanded Olayinka Adelekan, Thomas Sunday, Shittu Adam, and two others in prison for allegedly stealing the property of one Alhaji Odetayo   Olaoluwa valued N3 Million.

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector James Oladoye told the court that the accused persons on  May 5, 2017 at Ondo road, Ile Ife stole some  properties of the complainant valued N3 million.

The prosecutor said the stolen items includes 12 laptops, 102 bed sheets,42 pieces of duvets, Seventy coloured cottons, and 89  pieces of Lamp Holders.

He added that the offence contrary to section 383 and 390(4)(g)(6) of criminal code cap 34 and punishable under section 427 of the criminal code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun State Nigeria 2003.

When the five count charges were read to the accused persons they pleaded not guilty.

Defense Counsel to the accused persons, Mr Ola Ibrahim pleaded to the court to grant his clients bail on liberal term, stating that they have been in police custody since 6th of July.

In his ruling ,Magistrate  Olayimika Ijiyode ordered the accused  to be remanded in prison.

He adjourned the case to 10th of October 2017 for mentioning.
