Ife Court Remands Man Over Alleged N50,000 Fraud

An Osun State Magistrate Court II sitting in Ile Ife on Monday remanded a 50-year-old man, Oladimeji Olalekan, in prison custody Over alleged N50,000 fraud.

Olalekan is standing trial on a two-count charge of stealing and obtaining money by false pretense.

According to the prosecutor, Inspector James Adesoji , the accused collected N50,000 from Mr Ayokunle Daniel under the pretext of executing a bore hole project for him.

Adesoji said that the accused committed the offence on June 22nd 2017 in Ile Ife, adding that the offences is contrary to Section 256 and punishable under Sections 105 and 406 laws of Osun State.

He said that investigations revealed that the accused conspired with four others, still at large, to commit the offence.

He urged the court to remand the accused in prison custody pending completion of investigations on the matter.

In his ruling, Magistrate Olamilekan Ijiyode, ordered that the accused be remanded in Prison.

He however adjourned the case to August 18th for mentioning.
