The Performing Musicians Association Of Nigeria (PMAN) Ile Ife branch during the Weekend staged a rally throughout Enuwa road to mourn Late Chief Durojaye Aremu who died on June 19th, 2017. He was 80 years.
The group during the rally was singing various songs in Ife dialect in memory of the deceased.

He noted that the Ife born musician served selflessly and was dutiful in his contribution to the course of the development of Ile Ife.
“Few musicians have influenced the sound and trajectory of popular music more distinctly, or touched quite so many people with their talent. One of the most gifted and prolific musician of our time, is Durojaye Aremu. He was a virtuoso instrumentalist, a great Ife born musician, an electrifying performer, he was our leader, very hardworking, and was a lover of all people”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, his band and all who loved him.” he said.
The president however, urged the family of the deceased to take solace in the fact that late Durojaye lived a life worthy of emulation.
“My candid advice to the bereaved family is to strengthen their faith in God. We should also know that death is an inevitable end for all humans. I pray God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.”
