OAU Appoints New Dean of Students Affairs

Following the appointment of Professor (Mrs) Grace Akinola as Special Adviser to Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola on Higher Education and Scholarship, the management of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, has appointed a new Dean for the Division of Students Affairs of the institution.

Ife City News gathered that the university has approved the appointment of Prof Isiaka Aransi, a Professor of Local Government studies from Faculty of Administration as the new Dean of  division of students affairs, .

The former dean of the division, Professor (Mrs) Grace Akinola who spoke with our reporter in a telephone conversation enjoined OAU students to jointly work with the new dean as they have always supported her during her tenure.

She said “after my appointment as Special Adviser by the governor, it has been difficult to balance the state assignment with the University task as dean of division of students affairs. I  urge  students to work together with the new dean for rapid development and growth. I wish Prof. Aransi best of luck on his new appointment,” she said.

Tunde Fasasi, a student of department of English while reacting to the new appointment said  “For over five years, the university did not have a male as the dean of students affairs, we hope Prof. Aransi will  carry out his new assignment with all sense of responsibility.”

Meanwhile, a efforts to reach the new Dean, Prof. Aransi proved abortive as his line was not reachable as at the time of compiling this report
