OAU Students, Entrepreneurs Storm Nigeria Internet Business Conference

The students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife stormed Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), Ibadan for the third edition of Nigeria Internet Business Conference (NIBC) organised by Mr. Lukmon Fasasi, the Chief Executive Officer of Lukmon Fasasi Blog.

Notable internet enthusiasts in OAU were together with heavyweights Information Communication   experts in creating new opportunities.

Nigeria Minister of Communication, Barr Adebayo Shittu was represented by Mr. Akeem Yussuf, who expressed his delight for being in the midst of the young and ambitious ICT entrepreneurs.

“There are thousands of internet businesses that you can start today with little or no capital. Come and learn how to leverage internet and harness its benefits, If you are subscribing monthly and you are not making two hundred thousand in a month, then you are wasting your time.”

He appealed to the youth to use the power of internet to channel their goals.

Deepankar Rustagi, the CEO of V-connect, an Indian, who has lived in Nigeria for over 17 years  at the conference said the best template to transact  provide better network for businesses is ICT.

Uthman Samad, a student journalist from OAU who spoke with our reporter said “I am indeed happy to be present at this conference, because beyond campus journalism, I have learnt how to create employment for myself on internet”.

The organiser of the conference, Mr. Lukmon Fasasi while appreciating those who made the conference possible said: “This is the third edition and NIBC has come to stay. What matters in the 21st century is how to use the internet to maneuver your goals in life”.

The Head of Media and Publicity of the conference, Adejumo Kabir in his remarks said “we have made researches and it is in our best interest to let you know that no matter, how worst off, you might be, or your level of education, you can earn big on the internet according to new study.

“New global statistics has shown that there are now almost 4billion people on the internet, which means if you have an internet enabled phone, you have all you need to make ends meet at your fingertips. We hope to see more participants next year as we annually eradicate unemployment among youths.”

The conference has in attendance students from University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, University of Agriculture, Makurdi, and Ladoke Akintola University.

Dignitaries at the conference includes; Barr. Akinyemi Eniola, Aderonke Bamidele, Aisha Raufu, Ayeni Ekundayo, among others.
