OAU SU Rejects Charges in University Health Center

The leadership of Obafemi Awolowo University Students’ Union has moved against new charges at the university health center with respect to the release issued by the Division of Students’ Affairs on July 21st, 2017 compelling stale students who are yet to register at the University Health Center to do so within two weeks in order to avoid being attended to as bill patients.

The union rather tasked the university management to concentrate more on improving the general welfare condition of students on campus.

The union demands a holistic overhauling of the general welfare condition of students on campus and urged Professor Eyitope Ogunbodede administration to revamp unpleasant experiences that have left the students with no solution over time.

In a statement jointly signed by all arms of students’ union, the union enjoined the management to immediately look into the report of inefficiency and ineptitude of some members of staff and university health centre which has directly or indirectly claimed lives of students

Meanwhile, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Professor Ishaq Aransi  in a phone conversation with our reporter  said the division has met with the union and demanded  extension  after long hours of dialogue.

He said “I have related the demands of students to Director of Medical Service, so in the actual sense, students will be allowed till next semester”, Prof. Aransi said.
