The remains of the late Chairman of the Ife Day Committee for several years, Chief Jide Elugbaju will be committed to mother earth on September 30, this year.
Sources close to the family said a commendation service will kick off the ceremonies on September 27, 2017 at the Redeemed Christian Church, Adeniyi -Jones, Ikeja, Lagos.
Besides chairing the Ife Day committee, Elugbaju was known for his major contribution to the crusade for the creation of Oduduwa State with Ile-Ife as capital.
….His Last Moments
If Jide Elugbaju, 70 had been told the night before his demise that he had less than 24 hours more, he would have, in his charasteristic jovial manner, had laughed it off as a cruel joke.
He had spent that evening watching his favourite sport, wrestling on television as his wife traded banters with him.
He was scheduled to conduct a training at Ikorodu the next day, a Saturday. Concerned that he might be late, his wife had counselled him to go to bed early. Eventually, both retired to bed, hale and hearty.
The trouble started about 4am when he complained of stomach upset.
The condition worsened in the morning, prompting the family to seek the services of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital. It was while receiving the treatment that he gave up the ghost.
