Ife Court Remands Five For Beating Man To Stupor

An Osun State Magistrate Court II sitting in Ile Ife has remanded Adewuyi Moruf, Adebisi Ayanbamiji, Oye Bamiji, Ademakiwa Adetoyese and one other in  prison custody for allegedly assaulting a man, Mr Rasheed Adekoja.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Abdullah told the court that the accused persons used harmful weapons to beat the complainant to a state of stupor.

He stated further that the accused people committed the offence in contrary to section 412 and punishable under section 389 of the criminal code cap 34 vol.II laws of Osun State 2003.

When the four court charges were read to the accused persons, they pleaded not guilty.

The counsel to the accused people, Mr Ola Ibrahim applied for the bail on the most lenient term.

In his ruling, Magistrate Olamilekan Ijiyode ordered the accused persons to be remanded in prison till their application bail is granted.

He however adjourned the case to August 10, 2017 for mentioning.
