OAU Campus Scanty, As Students Vacate for Sallah

Following the announcement by the Federal Government declaring Friday, 1st and Monday, 4th of September as public holiday for Eld-il-Kabir celebration, Obafemi Awolowo University campus has become scanty.

IFE CITY NEWS observed that some of the students have left school upon the completion of their exam for the semester while others went home to celebrate with their families.

Toyin Ademola, a 300 level student of department of English who spoke with our reporter said: “I finished my exam on Tuesday and I need to go home for break. The postponement of the exam did not affect me”

Abeeb Kasali, a student of department of Demography and social statistics told our reporter that he received calls from home to avail himself for the sallah.

“Since my birth, I don’t have need to celebrate Sallah outside my home. Even when I explained to my parents that I have exam after the Sallah break, they insisted that I come home”
