Three men – Sunday Akinde, 19, Seun Akinde,19, and Korede Azeez,21, were on Tuesday arraigned in Ile Ife Magistrates Court for alleged breach of peace.
The defendants who are of no fixed addresses are facing a two count charge of conspiracy and breach of peace.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Emmanuel Akin, told the court that the accused persons and others still at large, committed the offences on June 19 at about 8.00 a.m., at Ifewara area, in Ile Ife.
He said that the accused persons and their accomplices conducted themselves in manner likely to cause breach of peace by threatening the community with cutlasses and axes.
He added that the offences contravened Sections 80(d) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Vol. 1, Laws of OSun State, 2006.
The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
In his ruling, Magistrate Olamilekan Ijiyode granted bail to the accused persons in the sum of N300,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
The case was adjourned until October 5, 2017 for hearing.
