Six men, including three teenagers were on Friday charged before an Osun State magistrate court II sitting in Ile Ife over allegations of robbery and membership of an unlawful society.
The accused persons, Ade Okuwatosin,18; Moses Ishola,20; Ajimuda Samuel,28; Segun Ogunlana, 18; Olalekan Olajide , 28, and Joshua Abraham, 19, reside at iremo road in Ile Ife.
They are standing trial on a four-count charge of conspiracy, assault, membership of an unlawful society and armed robbery.
The Prosecutor, Ibijoke Akinpelu, told court that the accused committed the offences on April 15 at about 10.30 p.m. at Iremo road in Ile Ife.
Akinpelu said that the accused, who were suspected to be members of an unlawful society, robbed two persons, Seun Odeniyi and Adefisayo Bimpe of their phones and cash, valued at N120, 000.
She said that the accused assaulted Odeniyi with a machete, causing him grievous body harm.
According to Akinpelu, the offences contravene Sections 41, 243, 297 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Osun State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them.
The Magistrate, Mr Ijiyode Olamilekan, granted each of the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety each in like sum.
He however adjourned the case to October 20th for substantive trial.
