Court Remands Man In Ile Ife Prison Over Attempt Murder A Teacher

An Osun State Magiste Court II sitting in Ile Ife has ordered the remand of one Ahamed Kola in Ile Ife prison over an alleged attempt to murder a teacher, Mr Adedire Ibitoye.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Osanyetuyi told the court that the accused committed the offence on Sept. 24 at Ojoyin area in Ile Ife.

He alleged that the accused, on the said date, unlawfully attempted to murder the teacher by hitting him with his cutlass and axe.

According to him, the offence contravened Section 320 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Laws of Osun state, 2008.

The court did not take the plea of the defendant as his counsel; Mr Ibrahim Lawal applied for a short adjournment.

The magistrate, Olamilekan Ijiyode ordered that the accused person be remanded in prison until November 9, 2017.

The magistrate also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and send it to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPPs) for legal advice.

He later adjourned the case until November 9, 2017  for mentioning
