NAUS Set To Hold Annual National Convention

The National Association of University Students (NAUS) is set to hold her annual national convention for the year 2017.

In a statement jointly signed by the Convention Planning Committee (CPC) Chairman, Comrade Danielson Bamidele Monday and Secretary, Comrade Famuyibo Oluwasegun, the convention is billed to hold at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Ondo state between the 23rd and 26th of November, 2017.

The decision was reached following a meeting with NAUS stakeholders and the FUTA management on the transition process of the association.

The statement  stated that the 11-man Local Organizing Committee (LOC) having Comrade Arosoye Ayokunle as Chairman, and Comrade Olaseinde Olayinka (from FUTA) as Secretary.

The committee also urged  all the aspirants who are yet to submit their intent form to do so, as proper screening of aspirants will commence on the 15th of November, while list of eligible candidates that will stand for election at the convention ground will be published before the date of election.

It would be recall that the convention earlier scheduled for October 19th and 22nd was later postponed following a clash in convention date with the sister association and apex body, NANS (Zone B). After deliberate consultations had taken place behind closed doors, the situation was resolved leading to the rescheduled of the new date for the convention.
