OAU Medical Student Breaks 28 Years Record, Bags 12 Distinctions

It is a clean clearance as Aarinola Olaiya becomes the first student in 28 years to have distinction in Surgery at the Faculty of Clinical Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.

She is expected to receive 17 Awards at the university Convocation coming up in December

 

Ife University Medical Students Association disclosed this as they stormed twitter to celebrate one of their own, Miss Aarinola Olaiya as the overall best graduating students from the college.

“Retweeted Medical Students OAU (@IfumsaOau): Aarinola Olaiya becomes the 1st Student in 28yrs to have a Distinction in Surgery at the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, OAU, Ife. Congrats!”

Ife City News gathered that  Aarinola bagged distinction in surgery and medicine  in the just released her  MBCHB result.

She made distinction in Medical Biochemistry, Medical Physiological Sciences in 300 level first MBCHB examination, distinction in Pathology, distinction in Pharmacology and distinction in CLI during 400 level second MBCHB examination.

Also, she made distinction in Dermatology and Venerology, distinction in Mental Health, distinction in Obestrics and Gynecology in her 500 level third MBChB examination. During are final year, she made distinction in Surgery, distinction in Medicine and distinction in Community Health in her 600 level Final MBChB Examination Result.

One of the medical students, Anthony Ifedigbo told our reporter that Aarinola has set the pace for others to follow.

“She did very well because it takes grace to achieve such feat in college of health sciences.  We are proud of her”, he said.

“I know Aarinola very well, though the going was tough but she became tougher to get going. I am happy for her. Whoever knows what this record means will definitely know that this young beautiful lady must have read her eyes out. It takes hard work to achieve great success in great Ife”

When contacted, Aarinola Olaiya thanked God for the breakthrough. “It is about determination, dedication and grace. I am happy”, the lucky girl said.

The institution is expected to hold her convocation for graduating students in December.
