Six men, including three teenagers were on Monday charged before an Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Ile Ife over allegations of robbery and membership of an unlawful society.
The accused, Alade Taiwo, 18; Adeoti Moses, 20; Animashaun Samuel, 28; Segun Olajide, 18; Olalekan Olajide ,28, and Joshua Abraham, 19, reside at Iremo area in Ile Ife.
They are standing trial on a four-count charge of conspiracy, assault, membership of an unlawful society and armed robbery.
The Prosecutor, Sergent Sunday Osanyetuyi told the court that the accused committed the offences on October 15 at about 10.30 p.m. at Ifewara.
He said that the accused, who were suspected to be members of an unlawful society, robbed two persons, Onifade Ojo and Adefisayo Tosin of their phones and cash, valued at N120, 000.
He said that the accused assaulted the complainants with a machete, causing him grievous body harm.
According to him, the offences contravene Sections 41, 243, 297 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Osun State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr Olamilekan Ijiyode, granted each of the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety each in like sum.
He however adjourned the matter till November 16th for substantive trial.
