Ife city news journalist, Adejumo Kabir bagged the award of Nigerian Universities Journalist of the year at Nigerian Universities Merit Awards that held in Ibadan recently.
Also, out of the categories of the Nigerian Universities’ Merit Awards(NUMA) that students across Nigerian universities’ students and personalities were nominated for, Seven was won by Obafemi Awolowo University Students. The award night took place last night in Ighodalo Hall in Ibadan, Oyo state with many schools in attendance.
The award night witnessed students from University of Lagos, Olabisi Onabanjo University, University of Ibadan, Federal University of Technology Akure and Lagos state University, University of Ibadan and others.
The event appeared memorable as seven awards were won by OAU students.
Adejumo Kabir of Ife City News won the best journalist of the year, Gbadamosi Afeez won the best political icon, OAU peeps news agency won the best media outlets of the year, Timi Agbaje won the best Master of Ceremony of the year, Tobi Morakinyo won the next rated artiste, and
Boluwajaiye Adeoluwa won the best online personality and Baba Wale won the category of youth development.
The awardees expressed their happiness and profound joy for not only making it to the final stage but also won.
Adejumo Kabir in his words of appreciation, said ” I feel very humble, I appreciate the organisers and dedicate the award to all voters and our readers. We shall continue to expose hidden revelations and atrocities on Nigerian campuses with competence and integrity.”
The organizer of the award, Olanrewaju Oyedeji, said the award is based on merit which reflected in the outstanding personalities who bagged the award.
