Four men, including three teenagers were on Friday charged before an Osun State magistrate Court II sitting in Ile Ife over allegations of robbery and membership of an unlawful society.
The accused, Aladeito Tosin , 18; Coker Moses, 20; Ajimuda Samuel, 28; and Haruna Daud reside at Iremo road in Ile Ife.
They are standing trial on a four-count charge of conspiracy, assault, membership of an unlawful society and armed robbery.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Ibiyomu Tunde, told court that the accused committed the offences on November 30 at about 10.30 p.m. at Ilare street.
He said that the accused, who were suspected to be members of an unlawful society, robbed two persons, James Joshua and Adefisayo Tosin of their phones and cash, valued at N120, 000.
He said that the accused assaulted the complainants with a machete, causing them grievous body harm.
According to him, the offences contravene Sections 41, 243, 297 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Osun State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mr Olamilekan Ijiyode, granted each of the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the matter to January 8, 2018 for substantive trial.
