As part of activities of repositioning the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for global relevance, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Eyitayo Ogunbodede has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with Towson University, Towson, US.
Towson is the second largest public university in the state of Maryland with a internationally rated Cyber Security programme, designated by the National Security Agency Department of Homeland Security of US as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education in 2002 and in Cyber operations in 2013.
Towson team led by Professor David Alan Vanko were on campus recently to establish a strong partnership between university and Obafemi Awolowo University; especially in respect of the OAU Africa Centre of Excellence (ACE) project.
At the signing event, the VC expressed optimism that the MOU will signal an onset of an active, mutually benefitting collaboration between the two Universities.
The Towson team comprised, Dean, Fisher College of Science and Mathematics; Professor Siddharth Kaza, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science; Professor Clare Muhoro, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry and Professor, Yeong-Tae Song, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science.
