Two students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife has won the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) scholarship award. One of the winners, Jaiyeola Faith, is currently a final year student of Economics.
The second winner, Arayemi Victor is currently a part four student of Economics in OAU.
Faith represented the Nigerian Economics student Association (NESA) OAU chapter in the Young analyst debate organized by the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) during the Annual Economics Student Conference (AESC).
As the chief speaker, her coherent speaking and thorough understanding of the subject made NESA OAU the winner of the debate and through this achievement, she was offered a scholarship to write the Diploma Exam of the CIS.
Her keen interest in finance and flair for public speaking motivated her to participate in the debate. She also has a penchant for traveling and learning new languages and also likes to read about different countries and learn new words in foreign languages especially French, Spanish and Chinese. In addition, during her spare time, she enjoys watching movies in the genres of adventures and comedy.
She is a charismatic and enthusiastic individual, who loves to interact with people and learn new things.
She is currently a campus ambassador for “investment one”, which is the investment arm of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB)] and the brand owner of Ziing” an online savings and investment platform. She is also a campus ambassador for the CIS.
She is also very much interested in pursuing a career in finance, specifically, investment banking.
Also, Arayemi, the co-debater was able to support the chief speaker in winning the debate for the association OAU.
He was motivated to participate as a result of his love for public speaking and finance. Aside from finance and public speaking, he has a keen interest in reading, watching movie and analysis of data. He is currently a member of the Association Accounting Technician (AAT) and having the prospect of writing the professional examination of the institute of chartered accountant of Nigeria.
Through his achievement in the debate, he became the ambassador of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) and was offered a scholarship to write the institute diploma examination.
